As a current faculty, staff, or student, you are eligible to download and activate the full Microsoft Office 365 suite (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) for free on up to five personal devices.

Students often make a common error during activation because the email address required to activate Office 365 is different from your student email address.

You must use your unique WebID followed by @olemiss.edu.
Do not type the literal word 'WebID.' Replace it with your actual, unique university username.
Do not include the '@go' part of your email address.
Step-by-Step Activation Instructions
Follow these steps to activate and install Office 365 on your computer:
Navigate to the Office 365 Account Portal or portal.office.com/account .
Enter your Office 365 Activation email: [WebID]@olemiss.edu then select Next.
You will be redirected to the University's secure single sign-on page. Enter your WebID and your password, then select Sign in.
Once logged in, select the button labeled Install Office in the upper right corner and follow the on-screen prompts to download and install the software.
When you open an Office application for the first time, you may be prompted to sign in again to Activate. Make sure to use your [WebID]@olemiss.edu to complete the product activation.
Limitations
This subscription includes the core desktop applications, but it does not allow for the installation or use of add-ons from the Microsoft Store within the Office suite (e.g., third-party tools, academic plug-ins).
Eligibility
This free subscription is only available to:
- Currently active employees.
- Full-time students enrolled in a current semester (not future). Students with certain classifications may not be eligible.
